It offers up four powertrain options - a 72hp 1.0 naturally aspirated petrol with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, and a 100hp 1.0 turbo-petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or a CVT. It promises great value with a relatively low price range for the segment and a strong equipment list.

It may not be quite as revolutionary as its siblings, the Kwid, Triber and Duster were when they were launched, but the Kiger still comes in strong. It's turbo-petrol engine is peppy and responsive, it's loaded with equipment, it's comfortable and there's lots of space too. All this comes at a knockout price that even undercuts some premium hatchbacks. Look closer and you'll see some evidence of costs being saved, notably in sound insulation and certain cabin elements, but these are worth overlooking considering the tremendous value it offers.
