Based on your usage pattern of 50 km daily city driving with only occasional highway trips, the Kia Sonet diesel is not the best fit. Modern diesel engines with DPF systems are not ideally suited to predominantly urban driving, and while the Sonet is a good car, it is not worth the potential hassle given your usage. The Skoda Kushaq Signature Plus AT is a better option if you enjoy driving, but it is a segment up on the others, which means it will exceed your budget. The Kylaq is the direct rival to the others on your list, but its rear seat can feel a bit tight. The Tata Nexon Creative+ PS Camo DCA is a solid all-rounder with good safety credentials, but the DCA gearbox won't feel as smooth as the torque converter on the XUV 3XO.The Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5L is therefore the recommendation here. It has a premium and spacious cabin, a strong feature set, good safety credentials and a comfortable ride, making it well suited to daily city commuting. The turbo-petrol engine is also punchy and the 6-speed automatic is very smooth. If you are open to alternatives, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza automatic is also worth considering for its reliability, fuel efficiency, low maintenance costs and proven ownership experience, but it lacks the performance of the 3XO.

Go for the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI. It is the better fit for your requirements. The Kushaq is one of the most engaging cars to drive in this price range, with a strong turbo petrol engine and a well-sorted chassis that makes both city driving and highway runs enjoyable. It is also genuinely spacious for five occupants and has a decent boot, which makes it a practical family car. The Skoda Kushaq mileage ranges from 18.72 kpl to 19.66 kpl, depending on the chosen powertrain option.The Brezza is a very sensible choice with excellent reliability and low running costs. It also now comes with a turbo petrol, but it is not as engaging to drive and does not feel as premium inside. The Kushaq strikes a better balance for your needs. The only caveat is that Skoda's service network is not as extensive as Maruti's.

With a daily running of around 100 km, fuel efficiency becomes a major factor in ownership costs. The Skoda Kushaq petrol automatic is a good car, but the 10-13kpl you are seeing is typical for a turbo petrol automatic, especially with E20 petrol. At this usage, a diesel or a strong hybrid makes far more sense.If you do regular highway runs, a diesel is still the most practical and cost-effective solution. The Mahindra XUV 7XO diesel automatic would be the recommendation here. It is a strong highway car, comfortable, spacious and the diesel engine will deliver significantly better fuel efficiency than your Kushaq. Diesel running costs will be far lower over your kind of mileage. If that is out of your budget, something smaller like a Kia Seltos diesel, while not as powerful, is even more efficient.If your usage is mostly city a strong hybrid could be a better solution. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is the most practical and cost-effective option. It is well priced, has a proven track record and will dramatically reduce your running costs. The strong hybrid is better suited to the city, where it is more likely to run on its electric motor than use the engine and deliver the better mileage.
