An updated version of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS has been spotted testing overseas. The spy shots show a few mechanical updates like updated suspension and a racier/more aggressive/sportier riding posture.

  1. Updates include a semi-active suspension, clip-on handlebars
  2. New wheel design shod with Pirelli Supercorsa tyres at both ends

Triumph Speed 1200 RS: What changes can be seen

While the current model utilises manually adjustable Öhlins suspension, the test mule has electronically adjustable suspension which will to be controlled through the switchgear and the TFT dash. However, these suspension components happen to be carried forward from the half-faired Speed Triple 1200 RR. Other updates include a new steering damper, visible underneath the dual headlight design, attached to the USD fork.

Furthermore, the spy shots reveal clip-on handlebars, with a more aggressive riding posture in comparison to the tubular handlebar that's more upright on the current Speed Triple 1200 RS. posture as well. Another addition is the new wheel design shod in Pirelli Supercorsa rubber in comparison to the Metzeler Racetec RR rubber seen on the older model.

Updated Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS spotted testing

We expect the updated version of the Speed Triple 1200 RS to offer a similar riding experience as the current bike, based on our review of the latter. The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is currently priced at Rs 17.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and when this updated model arrives here, we expect prices to go up. Despite that, the Speed Triple remains one of the more accessible supernakeds given that comparable rivals from Ducati, Kawasaki, BMW and Aprilia cost well over the Rs 20 lakh mark (ex-showroom, India).
