•3wI am looking to purchase a vehicle worth around ₹1.5 crore. What are the best options in the market with good after-sales service?

Autocar India
There are plenty of options available within your budget of Rs 1.5 crore from brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Lexus, Land Rover and Maserati. However, since after-sales support is a key priority for you, we would recommend opting for Mercedes-Benz and BMW cars. These manufacturers have the widest service footprint among luxury carmakers, and since the majority of their products are locally assembled, parts are in ready supply. From Mercedes's line-up, we suggest that you consider the GLS from the ICE line-up or the electric EQS SUV. The best options from BMW for the money are the X7 and the all-electric iX. You could also consider the Toyota Vellfire. It's a supremely comfortable MPV with Toyota's bulletproof reliability.

•5wI’m confused between the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 Petrol and the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 Petrol for highway runs. Which one provides a flat, composed, and stable ride quality with confidence-inspiring high-speed dynamics and better NVH levels?

Autocar India
Both the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 and GLS 450 are very comfortable and stable at high speeds. However, if you do not need the extra row of seats, the GLE would be a better bet. The GLE is a five-seater and hence is lighter by around 210kg. The GLE is also shorter in length, and the wheelbase makes it a bit more stable on the highways, especially over expansion joints. Both SUVs get air suspension and feature an inherently soft ride. But between the two, the GLE would be a bit more comfortable on the highway. Both SUVs have similar and excellent NVH performance and feature impressive cabin insulation. So with either one, you won't be disappointed.

•5wI don’t know whether to go for the new Mercedes-Benz V-Class or the facelifted GLS. I currently own a 2022 GLS which needs to be replaced. Which one should I choose?

Autocar India
The Mercedes Benz V Class has been reintroduced to India with several improvements that make it a better luxury vehicle than the previous version. For one, Mercedes has now brought in the extra-long wheelbase version of the MPV. At 3.4 metres, it now has the longest wheelbase of any Mercedes in India. This gives it immense cabin space and, as before, you get a flexible seating layout. Only this time the second row gets more luxurious lounge-style seats, with power adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage functions. It also gets air suspension for better ride comfort. Moreover, uses more powerful engines than before - the 331hp V300 mild-hybrid petrol and 337hp V300d diesel. Considering you have a 2022 GLS, buying the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLS version will not feel significantly different. It amounts mainly to design changes and a few feature updates. In many scenarios, the GLS is the superior vehicle to the V Class as it uses 6-cylinder petrol and diesel engines rather than 4 cylinders. It also has features that include a panoramic sunroof and rear entertainment screens. Also, offers greater ability to traverse rough roads, with AWD, better ground clearance, and larger wheels and tyres. Plus, there is arguably the greater road presence that an SUV offers. So if you like your existing GLS and don't mind using a slightly updated version of the same, it is the better choice.

•10wI am looking to buy an SUV to drive myself on the weekends but I am confused between BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS and Range Rover Sport

Autocar India
While the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7 are spacious, practical and big on road presence, since you will just be driving yourself on weekends, their added size holds no value and simply makes them more cumbersome. As such, we'd recommend the Range Rover Sport, which has the added benefit of greater snob value than the Merc or BMW. Both its straight-six engines - petrol and diesel - are powerful and refined; in fact, they sound really nice. And though this is a big car for a five-seater, it's reasonably fun to drive. Additionally, consider the Porsche Cayenne, which, though not quite as big and imposing as the Range Rover, is even more fun to drive.

•17wI am planning to buy a luxury SUV, and my budget is between Rs 1.4 and 1.6 crore. I am mainly confused between the Range Rover Sport, Mercedes GLS, and BMW X7. Which one would be the best choice?

Autocar India
The Range Rover Sport is the one I’d steer you towards. While all three SUVs are highly capable and deliver the luxury and performance you’d expect at this price point, the Range Rover Sport stands apart in a few key areas. Its design has an undeniable sense of occasion - understated yet distinctive - and it carries a level of road presence the German SUVs can’t quite match. The cabin feels properly special too, with exquisite materials, a minimalist layout and a plushness that immediately sets it apart.Out on the road, the Range Rover Sport blends performance and comfort exceptionally well. The ride quality is superb, gliding over bad patches with an effortlessness that makes long journeys genuinely relaxing.Yes, the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7 are both extremely competent and offer more seats and practicality, but they lack the sense of class and emotional appeal that the Range Rover delivers so naturally. If your priority is an SUV that not only performs but also feels luxurious, distinctive and a cut above in terms of desirability, the Range Rover Sport is the clear choice.

•18wI want to upgrade my car and have a budget of 1-1.5 crore. Should I go for the Range Rover Sport, BMW X5, GLE or GLS?

Autocar India
If you don't mind the large size on the road, go for the Mercedes Benz GLS. Apart from having the benefit of a usable set of third-row seats, its large size gives it excellent road presence. Apart from that, it's an excellent luxury vehicle, with powerful and effortless six-cylinder engines and a sumptuously appointed cabin, with loads of high-tech features. However, in case you enjoy driving and will be driving the SUV yourself, you should go for the BMW X5.
