Mercedes-Benz G-Class Electric
The Mercedes Benz G Class Electric is a luxury SUV with seating for up to 5 people. It is a luxury EV that uses a ladder frame design, which also makes it unique and a true 4x4. While there are no direct competitors, the G Class Electric rivals include BMW XM, Lotus Eletre and Mercedes Benz EQS SUV. The Mercedes G Class Electric starts at ₹3.10 crore (ex showroom, India).
While the body on frame concept for a new age EV might be unconventional, the luxurious and well appointed interior with loads of cutting edge features is undoubtedly modern. This G Wagon should also not have issues going off road, with plenty of power and ground clearance. The G Class Electric has a claimed range of 473km and supports DC fast charging up to 200 kW.

Mercedes Benz G Class Electric design and interior
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class Electric has an exterior design that closely mimics the tried and tested formula that has worked well on the G-Wagon for decades. The boxy styling and upright stance of this electric G-Wagon is complemented by its thin A pillars, squared windows, enlarged wheel arches, signature tailgate-mounted spare wheel design, and old-school pull-type door handles.
The G-Class Electric has a well-made and premium interior. The Nappa leather upholstery is gelled with G-Wagon details like a front-passenger grab handle, loads of headroom, square windows, and plenty of physical buttons. However, the diff-lock buttons on the standard G-Class have been replaced with buttons to engage low range, G-steering and G-turn. The leather seats feel premium but not exceptional.
Some of the noteworthy features of the G-Class Electric include massaging and ventilated front seats, 64-colour mood lighting, tri-zone climate control, and a Burmester sound system. There is also an 11.6-inch rear seat entertainment system, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, and a 12.3-inch MBUX infotainment screen with “Hey Mercedes” voice assistant. While the 620-litre boot of the G-Class Electric is good, it still falls 20 litres short of the G63 AMG.
