The TVS Ntorq 125 has crossed the 2 million domestic market sales milestone in May 2025, with over 3 lakh units sold in overseas markets till end-FY2025. While the first million units were sold in a little over four years since launch, the next million took just three years.

  1. TVS Ntorq 125 is available in five variants
  2. Ntorq accounts for 23 percent of TVS scooter sales
  3. Ntorq 150 being readied for festive season launch

TVS Ntorq sales trajectory in India

Ntorq is the second largest selling scooter for TVS

Since launch till May 2025, the Ntorq 125 has sold a total of 20,06,038 units (over 2 million) and contributed 23 percent to the 8.75 million scooters TVS has sold in India since February 2018. The Ntorq’s best yearly sales were in FY2025 when it sold 3,34,414 units, up 6 percent YoY (FY2024: 3,31,865 units) and accounted for 18 percent of TVS’ record scooter sales of 1.81 million units.

This share, however, is considerably down from the 29 percent the Ntorq had in FY2022, which indicates its contribution has slowed down over the past three years in comparison to the Jupiter (whose share grew to 61 percent in FY2025) and the iQube (15 percent share).

In FY2025, the Ntorq held onto its position as India’s fourth bestselling scooter, behind the Honda Activa (2.52 million units), sibling Jupiter (1.10 million units) and Suzuki Access (7,27,458 units). It was just 13,194 units ahead of the Honda Dio (3,21,220 units). The Ntorq was also the fourth most-exported scooter in FY2025 (64,988 units).

The Ntorq’s importance in TVS’ scooter portfolio stems from the fact that after the Jupiter models, it remains TVS’ second-bestselling scooter. In fact, the success of the Ntorq was the inspiration behind TVS rolling out its second 125cc scooter, the Jupiter 125 in October 2021.

The Ntorq is also the most exported scooter for TVS. Since its launch in February 2018 till end-FY2025, 3,08,252 Ntorqs have sold overseas compared to 1,22,866 Jupiters in the same period.

The Ntorq is targeted at a youthful audience

Ntorq 125 can be had in five variants

TVS introduced the Ntorq in early 2018, when the scooter buyer preference for 125cc models was just about taking shape in India. Over the past few years, the company has, at regular intervals, introduced new variants to retain model freshness and to rev up sales.

The Ntorq is available in a total of five variants – Disc, Race Edition, Super Squad Edition, Race XP and XT, with pricing ranging between Rs 87,542 and Rs 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the Race XP gets a slightly more powerful engine making 10.2hp and 10.8Nm, the rest aren't too far behind at 9.4hp and 10.5Nm. Meanwhile, the range-topping XT variant comes with a TFT display that has some extra features over and above the LCD dash that is seen on all the other variants. The differences between the Disc, Race Edition and Super Squad Edition are purely cosmetic.

While the Jupiter remains TVS' bestselling scooter, the Ntorq 125 has contributed 23 percent to TVS' scooter sales since its launch.

TVS Ntorq 125 sales cross 2 million units since launch

Jupiter and Ntorq help TVS increase market share to 26 percent

While the Jupiter, which hit 7 million sales early this year, remains the biggest contributor to TVS’ scooter sales with a 62 percent share since its launch in September 2013, the Ntorq is No. 2 with a 23 percent share since its launch. Other scooters in TVS’ stable are the Zest and the electric iQube. The Ntorq’s strong showing is creditable considering it is part of the competitive 125cc scooter segment. The Ntorq's and Jupiter’s sustained growth has helped TVS increase its market share between FY2018 and FY2025 from 16.35 percent to 26.45 percent, enabling it to take the No. 2 position after Honda (41.50 percent scooter market share, down from 56.86 percent in FY2018). Third-placed Suzuki had a 14.95 percent scooter market share in FY2025.

TVS Ntorq 150 launching this festive season

Ntorq 150 will rival Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Ntorq 150 will be among the new models that TVS is planning to launch later this year. As scooter buyers look to upgrade to higher-powered steeds, the company expects a 150cc sibling to the Ntorq 125 will prove beneficial to the brand to take on the Yamaha Aerox 155 (which sold 22,928 units in FY2025, up 24 percent), Aprilia 160cc scooters and the Hero Xoom 160.

Expect TVS to play to its usual strengths of a comprehensive features list and high build quality with its largest ICE scooter to date. TVS will likely carry forward the smaller Ntorq’s sporty styling to the bigger 150cc model, which could get 14-inch wheels at both ends, like its rivals from Hero MotoCorp, Yamaha and Aprilia.

Like TVS’ upcoming entry-level electric scooter, the new Ntorq 150 is likely to be launched in or around this festive season. Pricing is likely to be in sync with those of its 150cc rivals.
