Hero MotoCorp showcased two 100cc variants today at the Auto Expo. The first was the Splendor Pro Classic, Hero's take on the cafe racer. It gets new handle bars, the classic round headlight and tail light, a cafe racer cowl and plenty of chrome on the fenders, indicators, rear suspension casing and rear view mirrors. The bike will be powered by a four-stroke, 100cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine.

The other bike was the Passion Pro TR which is an on-off roader. It features a raised front fender, headlight grill, hand guards, bash plate for the engine and fuel tank pads. It is available with new graphics and colour options.

The concepts showcased, included the Hastur, a naked street bike with aggressive styling cues, powered by a four-stroke, 620cc, parallel twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, generating 79bhp of power at 9600rpm.

The futuristic looking Hero iON, an eco friendly motorcycle that runs on hydrogen fuel, was also on the stands. As the name suggests, the iON has a hydrogen fuel cell between its wheels along with batteries and capacitors for acceleration and braking. The open wheels contain hubless electric traction motors that uses zero friction magnetic levitation technology that double up as brakes when needed.

The iON is steered by rotating front, rear wheel and suspension systems around the pivots  mounted on the power module. The suspension system called the M-Link utilizes magnetorheological damping which adapts to the road condition real time using several on-board sensors. Vehicle information is displayed on the instrument cluster and all the information is communicated to the riders helmet.

Also on display was the Hero SimplEcity, an electric motorcycle designed for urban commuting. It weighs only 35kg and comes with innovative features like removable battery pack and a 'walk mode' that enables the rider to roll the bike effortlessly when walking or taking it upstairs.
