For ladies, which car is best for 35 km of daily running? EV, petrol, or CNG with automatic transmission? Please suggest which car to buy.

For a daily run of 35km, the decision between petrol, CNG and EV comes down to ownership priorities, irrespective of the driver's gender. A CNG car is the most cost-effective option, but it comes with compromises on boot space, convenience and refuelling time. A petrol car is the simplest and most hassle-free option, but running costs will be higher over time. An electric car makes the most sense if you have access to home charging, as it offers the lowest running costs and a smooth, quiet driving experience, but it is the most expensive to buy.If your budget is Rs 5-10 lakh, it rules out most EVs, and you will essentially have to choose between the MG Comet and the Tata Tiago EV. If you're okay with these options, the Tiago EV is the better all-rounder, offering more space, comfort, range and features, while the more affordable, ultra-compact Comet has the advantage of being easier to park. The Comet's small battery will require you to charge more often, even with a limited usage of 35km per day. EVs are smoother than petrol or CNG cars, and the running costs are the lowest, so if either of these two cars meets your needs, you should go down the EV route.

I want to buy an SUV-type CNG car in a budget of Rs 12-13 lakh. It would be ideal if I could get a CNG model with an automatic transmission. What are the good options for me?

If you want a CNG SUV with an automatic gearbox, the options are limited. In your budget of Rs 12-13 lakh, the Tata Punch CNG AMT is the best option. It is a well-rounded sub-compact SUV with a dual-tank CNG system, good ride comfort and the AMT you want. The drawback is that the powertrain isn't the most refined, and the AMT has a noticeable pause between shifts. If you are open to a manual, then the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG is a better bet. Its engine is more refined; it is a larger car, so it feels roomier inside, and it has an underfloor CNG tank, so boot space is not affected.

Dear Autocar Team, I drive around 45,000 km annually across highways and city roads. I previously owned a pre-owned Toyota Glanza Petrol (October 2020 to April 2024), which covered 90,000 km, and I currently drive a Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG (April 2024-present), which has now clocked 96,000 km. While the running costs are low, driving a manual car daily has become physically tiring. Additionally, frequent CNG queues and the limited boot space are major inconveniences. Around 85% of my driving is on highways. My questions are: Is 1.5 lakh km the right financial milestone to sell my Brezza CNG before major maintenance or overhaul costs start increasing? I am looking for an automatic strong hybrid car that can comfortably run up to 1.5 lakh km with low maintenance, fatigue-free driving, and a dedicated spare wheel (stepney). Between the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid, Hyryder CNG, and Honda City e:HEV, which would be the better choice for my requirements? Looking forward to your guidance.

With 45,000 km a year and 85% highway driving, your priorities are clear: low running costs, fatigue-free driving and long-term reliability. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG has served you well, but the manual gearbox and CNG queues are taking their toll. 1.5 lakh km is a sensible point to consider selling it before major overhaul costs start to creep in.Since you are specifically looking at hybrid cars, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid and the Honda City e:HEV are the strongest fit. Compared with the Honda City e:HEV, Hyryder offers a more relaxed driving experience, a higher seating position, better ground clearance, and a smoother ride over long highway distances. The hybrid system is well suited to your highway-heavy running and avoids the compromises of CNG, while still delivering excellent fuel efficiency and low maintenance.Overall, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid is the best balance of efficiency, comfort, and long-term reliability for your driving pattern. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder price starts from Rs. 11.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hello Autocar Team, I would appreciate your expert advice in choosing my second car. Please suggest the top three recommendations under Rs 12 lakh, automatic, and comfortable for a family of five. I previously owned a Fiat Punto Dynamic Diesel. I used it daily for around 70km, plus one outstation trip every month. Now I've relocated to Pune, and my running has reduced substantially to under 500km per month, with occasional trips. My requirements are: Budget: Rs 10-12 lakh on-road (slightly flexible). Type: Automatic family car, comfortable for five adults. Priorities: Value for money, low running and maintenance costs, safety, features, good boot space, reliability, and hassle-free long-term ownership. Given my reduced usage, I'm open to petrol, EV, or CNG as well. Please suggest the best options that would suit my requirements. Looking forward to your guidance.

We'd recommend stretching your budget slightly for the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXi Automatic.Although it's priced just above your stated budget of Rs 10-12 lakh on road, the extra spend is justified. The recently launched Brezza brings a more modern package while retaining its proven 1.5-litre petrol engine and smooth automatic gearbox. It comfortably seats five adults, offers good ride quality, generous ground clearance, a practical boot and low maintenance costs. Combined with Maruti Suzuki's extensive service network, it makes for one of the most hassle-free family cars you can own over the long term.If you prefer to stay strictly within budget, the Toyota Taisor S AMT is another sensible option. It offers Toyota's reliable ownership experience, good fuel efficiency and decent space for a small family. The Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro Automatic is also worth considering if you prioritise performance, although its boot is among the smallest in the segment.
