Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
The Wagon R is one of Maruti Suzuki’s one of the best-selling models in the hatchback space. The Maruti Wagon R price in India starts at ₹4.99 lakh and goes up to ₹7.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is available in 10 variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. A flex fuel version, the Wagon R Bioflex, is also available, based on the ZXi+.
Engine options include a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol unit producing 68hp and 91Nm, or a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit producing 91hp and 114Nm. The latter has been tweaked for the flex fuel Wagon R and produces the same power and torque, but its claimed fuel efficiency is yet to be revealed. Both engines get the option of an MT and an AMT gearbox. Additionally, the 1.0-litre engine can also be had in CNG-spec, where it produces 57hp and 82Nm.
On the equipment front, the Wagon R FFV ZXI+ 1.2 comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 4-speaker sound system, alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, manual AC, remote keyless entry and 60:40 rear split/folding seats.
Safety features include standard six airbags, ESC, ABS, three-point seatbelts with a reminder for all passengers, a manually adjustable inside rearview mirror (IRVM) and rear parking sensors.
The Wagon R shares its Heartect platform with several other Maruti Suzuki models such as the Ertiga, Baleno and Swift. At its price point, the Wagon R rivals the Celerio from Maruti’s own stable, as well as other entry-level hatchbacks like the Citroen C3 and the Tata Tiago.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R price & variants
The price of the Wagon R starts at ₹ 4.99 lakh for the LXi 1.0, and goes up to ₹7.24 lakh for the FFV ZXI+ 1.2, ex-showroom. On-road prices of the Wagon R will vary from city to city depending on RTO charges, insurance and other factors, but depending on the variant chosen, it will roughly range between ₹5.77 lakh and ₹8.37 lakh. Meanwhile, the ex-showroom price of the Wagon R CNG variant starts from ₹5.89 lakh to ₹6.42 lakh.
- The Wagon R is available in 10 variants.
- The Wagon R base LXi 1.0 gets the 1.0-litre engine in both petrol and CNG guise, and is available with a manual gearbox. Wagon R on road price in Mumbai for LXi petrol-manual starts from ₹5.77 lakh.
- Moving up, the VXi trim gets the same powertrain options as the LXi, but this trim also introduces the AMT gearbox option.
- The ZXi trim gets the more powerful 91hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine, coupled with either a 5-speed MT or an AMT gearbox.
- Finally, the ZXi+ also get the 1.2-litre petrol engine with either MT or AMT gearbox. It is also available in a flex-fuel ‘Bioflex’ version that is E85 compatible.
