After driving the 2013 Wagon R 1.0, the engine acts like a diesel engine hence making it fun to drive. However, the seats are uncomfortable. The car is a bit feature loaded with an additional glovebox, hidden cup holders, and a basket under the front passenger seat. It's a strong seller compared to SUVs.
The Lxi CNG Breeza offers fewer goodies compared to the Vxi variant.
The new Wagon R VXI is the best choice for now. With current government policies and car manufacturers being clueless, it's the only option. It's a good choice to use for two years and then decide on your next car. You'll get good resale value or you can keep it.
ZXI has more features like better infotainment and safety options. It is spacious and comfortable, but more expensive.
Keeping in view all aspects, Wagon R is only the best alternate.
Wagon R is the best choice for comfort, especially for getting in and out. Others are just decent in this aspect.
Wagon R is big and spacious with good boot space. It offers the same engine and mileage.
Wagon R is a balanced car with all the options of Celerio. The only issue is it has become the Taxi of the Country, so choose a unique color. Cabin space is also nice.
For long drives, go for the Wagon R with the 1.2-liter engine. It's better for both mileage and power.
I've been using the Wagon R for 19 years now. It has good leg space, enough height to make it look spacious and not cramped. It's very low-maintenance, offers good mileage, and can carry a lot of luggage. The wider base design helps with body roll in ghat sections, even on the rear seats. Service centres are available everywhere, making it a convenient choice. At a reasonable speed, it's a safe car.

I own a 2012 Wagon R and now want to buy a new car with a budget of Rs. 11 lakh. My monthly running is about 700-750 km, with half of it in the city and the other half on highways. Please suggest a car with good mileage and a smooth, refined, and quiet engine. I am 65+ years old.
With a budget of Rs 11 lakh, a monthly running of 700-750 km split between city and highway, and a priority on refinement and ease of use, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno petrol automatic is the most sensible upgrade from your Wagon R. The Baleno offers a smooth and refined four cylinder petrol engine, a comfortable ride and a spacious cabin, making it easy to drive in the city while remaining stable and relaxed on the highway. It is also one of the most fuel-efficient petrol cars in its segment, which will help keep running costs in check. The automatic gearbox is reliable, making it particularly well-suited for your usage pattern. Maruti's wide service network and low maintenance costs further add to the ownership peace of mind. If you prefer a slightly higher seating position, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx petrol automatic is a good alternative, offering a similar experience with better visibility and a more SUV-like stance, though it will be slightly less fuel-efficient than the Baleno. Overall, the Baleno strikes the best balance between refinement, efficiency and ease of ownership for your requirements.
Hello I want a car which have low maintenance and better mileage. I have to run 300 kms 3 times a week in single run please suggest me a car in 5-6 lakh range. I am thinking about wagon r vxi Agar wagon r vxi me maruti touch screen leta hu to
I am planning to buy my first family car strictly under 6.5 lakh - 7 lakh (on-road) in Karnataka. My usage will be mainly local commute of 15-18 km daily and highway trips of approximately 300 km to hometown. I'm looking for a practical, reliable and low-maintenance vehicle, and therefore, I am leaning towards petrol with manual transmission. Features that I'm looking for include decent AC, all-4 power windows and central locking along with sufficient rear seat space for 2 adults and a boot big enough to accomodate 2-3 trolley bags. I have shortlisted Maruti Wagon R VXi 1.0 and Maruti Swift LXi. We have excluded Baleno as it wouldn't fit our parking space. I'm also excluding Renault and Citroen as these brands do not have a presence near where I live. I do not wish to consider Tata due to on-going bad experience with service that my friends are facing. Please share your opinion about these two models or any other reliable car that I might be missing out on.
Go for the Maruti Suzuki Swift LXi. Your usage pattern is a mix of daily city commuting and occasional 300km highway runs, and the Swift is the better all-rounder for this. It offers a more comfortable ride, better highway stability and a more refined driving experience compared to the Wagon R. The rear seat has enough space for two adults, and the boot is big enough to suit your requirement of carrying 2-3 trolley bags. The Wagon R is a very practical city car with a tall-boy design and good headroom, but it is not as comfortable or as confidence-inspiring on the highway. Both cars are equally reliable and low-maintenance, but the Swift feels like a more complete car overall.
