Maruti Suzuki Wagon R FAQs

The Maruti Wagon R’s spacious cabin and easy-to-drive nature are its X-factors. Even after its small form, it can seat 3 average-sized people comfortably on the rear bench. With its 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engines, it also offers an easy driving experience.

The Wagon R Bioflex is Rs 86,000 pricier than the Wagon R ZXi 1.2P MT. The E85 fuel is around Rs 20 (19 percent) more affordable than E20 fuel. But in our E20 vs E85 fuel mileage test with the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, we found that E85 fuel was 24.40 less fuel efficient. So, for now, the regular petrol variants offer more value-for-money.

The Maruti Wagin R is a practical car that offers a lot of space inside, a large 341-litre boot space and is fairly comfortable for taller passengers too. The driving experience is also relaxed, making it one of those cars that can be recommended to first-time car buyers.

The Maruti Suzuki, on all seats, offers good headroom, legroom and under-thigh support, even for passengers over 6 feet in height. At the rear row, the width of the hatchback allows 3 average-sized people to sit comfortably.

The Maruti Wagon R is an incredibly functional budget car that offers a lot of space and practicality at its price point. While it is not a driver's car, it still has all everything you would expect from a budget-oriented hatchback, making it a value-for-money offering.

In the rear-world, the Wagon R's 1.0-litre engine clocked 0-100kph in 13.28 seconds, while the 1.2-litre engine did it in 11.98 seconds.

The Maruti Wagon R's 341-litre boot space is one of the largest amongst its competitors. It is 81 litres bigger than the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and 99 litres bigger than the Tata Tiago.

The VXi 1.0-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission is the most value-for-money Maruti Wagon R variant. It gets features like a manually adjustable inside rearview mirror (IRVM), 2 speakers, keyless entry, and 6 airbags.

The Wagon R comes with halogen headlights and fog lamps. While the fog lamps are not bright enough, the headlights are effective. The headlight beam is spread wide and low, and although it does not offer LED-like strong illumination, it is still bright on all roads.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 1.2P offered a real-world fuel efficiency of around 12kpl in city driving conditions during our time with the hatchback. On highways, a higher fuel efficiency of around 15-16kpl can be expected, but a full-blown mileage test as per Autocar standards is yet to be conducted.
