New spy shots reveal what looks like Qianjiang's SRV 300 which could be rebranded and sold as a Harley-Davidson in certain markets.

  • Expected to be sold only in certain markets

  • Is powered by a 296cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin

  • Made by Qianjiang Motorcycles

Harley-Davidson has made it quite clear that it plans to enter the 300cc segment. The company even entered a partnership with Chinese Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle – the company that owns the Benelli brand – to manufacture small-displacement motorcycles for sale in Asian markets. While it was initially thought to be the parallel-twin powered 338R, it appears as if Harley has scrapped that plan. Instead, it’s likely that the SRV300 seen in the new images could take its place if it was rebadged as a Harley-Davidson.

Like the 338R, the new bike has also been developed by Qianjiang. From the looks of it, it appears to be quite compact and about the same size as its potential competition – the Hyosung GV300S and the Benda Motors Jinjira 300. The V-twin powered bike is also expected to be sold in certain markets, just like its rivals. That said, if it does get branded as a Harley, one could expect it to be sold in more markets in comparison. What also remains to be seen is if it makes its way to India. However, Hero has a tie-up with the company in India and it's unlikely as the two are said to be developing an entry-level motorcycle of their own.

SRV300

While the bike hasn’t been officially unveiled, its details have leaked as the company had applied for documentation. In addition to this, the Chinese brand released teaser images that reveal the bike is called the SRV 300

According to the document, the bike uses a 16-inch front wheel and a 15-inch unit at the rear. It has a claimed top speed of 129kph and comes equipped with ABS. The 296cc, V-twin engine makes around 30hp and the claimed kerb weight stands at 163kg.
