Renault Koleos facelift gets new two-wheel drive base variant; 2.0-litre diesel engine to be locally assembled.

Renault India has launched a facelift for the Koleos premium SUV and put on offer two new variants of the car.

The biggest change on the car is up front with the all-new glossy black grille with lots of chrome on it and a larger and higher placed company emblem. It also gets new, five-spoke alloy wheels and chrome strips on the side.
While earlier, the Renault Koleos SUV was available only with four-wheel drive and automatic transmission, now there's a 4X4 manual version and a two-wheel drive base manual variant as well.
The entry-level model gets only single-tone alloys while the higher variants get dual-tone ones. The base version also misses out on features like the BOSE audio system, ESP, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, side and curtain airbags, electric seat height adjustment and leather upholstery in the cabin.
The four-wheel drive variants get all the same features as before including keyless go, dual-zone automatic climate control, pillar-mounted rear air-con vents and selectable all-wheel drive with three modes, among others. New here are a pair of cup-holders in the rear seat armrest and a sunglass holder above the driver's window.
All versions of the Renault Koleos facelift are powered by the same 2.0-litre M9R diesel engine albeit upgraded and in different states of tune. While the two-wheel drive model gets 148 horses on tap, the four-wheel drive versions get 171bhp. Renault is now assembling this engine here at its Chennai facility.
The Renault Koleos facelift is priced at Rs 22.33 lakh for the 4X2 base manual variant, Rs 25.13 lakh for the 4X4 manual and Rs 26.19 lakh for the top-end 4X4 automatic variant.
