    Honda Prologue: what is it?

The Prologue is built on GM’s Ultium platform that also underpins electric SUVs like the Cadillac Lyriq, the Chevrolet Blazer and the GMC Hummer. Honda calls the Prologue as a “neo rugged” SUV.

The Prologue has a wheelbase that's 203mm longer and 127mm wider than the new Honda CR-V. The SUV rides on 21-inch wheels, and the front end is inspired by the Honda e electric city car as it features a large black bar. At the rear, the Honda logo makes way for the full brand name, and also features the ‘e:’ series badging. The Prologue will offer an exclusive paint finish called North Shore Pearl, which is inspired by “the natural beauty and colours near Lake Tahoe in California”.

On the inside, a 11-inch digital instrument display is joined by a 11.3-inch central touchscreen, and the interior colours draw inspiration from mountain snow. The Prologue will be a key model in the US for Honda, as the country will phase out new diesel cars by 2025 followed by new petrol cars by 2030.

Powertrain details haven't been announced yet, but they will likely match those of the Blazer, which gets up to 510km of range and a maximum charging rate of up to 190kW.

    Honda’s SUV plan for India

Honda is readying an all-new SUV based on the City sedan for the Indian market, which could be revealed sometime next year. The brand currently does not sell any SUV in India.
