BMW has launched the facelifted 3-series in India with prices starting at Rs 35.90 lakh for the base 320d Prestige, going up to Rs 44.50 lakh for the new top-of-the-line 320d M Sport variant. (All prices ex-showroom, all India)

Available only in diesel for now, the facelifted car gets minor styling changes to the exterior, along with added features. The facelifted 3-series is set apart from the old car by virtue of its new bumpers, tweaked LED headlamps and restyled all-LED tail-lights. The M Sport variant additionally gets an exclusive Estoril Blue paint scheme.

Each variant of the 3-series gets visual accents to differentiate one from the other. The Sport Line trim gets a red contrast stitching and inserts inside the cabin along with a choice of leather upholstery while the Luxury Line features additional chrome decor to the exterior.

The new M Sport trim gets a different body kit, BMW M steering, sport seats and drive mode select with a new Sport+ mode, choice of leather upholstery and a heads-up display.

Features available on the facelifted car include electric front seats, ambient lighting, BMW iDrive infotainment system with BMW ConnectedDrive, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, BMW Apps, parking sensors front and rear, auto start-stop function, brake energy regeneration and a drive mode selector. The Sport Line and above models get a larger 8.8-inch infotainment display with BMW Navigation system Professional 3D navigation system.

Under the hood of the facelifted 3-series sits a new 2.0-litre diesel engine from the facelifted X3. The new engine develops 187.74bhp – about 6bhp up from the old diesel unit. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox which comes equipped with paddle shifters from the Sport Line trim. BMW claims that the facelifted 3-series can sprint from
0-100kph in 7.2 seconds and achieve a top speed 250kph. A petrol engine will join the line-up later in the year

The facelifted 3-series rivals the likes of the Mercedes C-class, Audi A4 and the upcoming Jaguar XE and will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi alongside the new X1 and the new 7-series.
