Honda has silently launched the 2018 Activa-i in India. The new Honda Activa-i will retail for Rs 50,010 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is a marginal price hike compared to the older scooter. Launched in 2013, the Honda Activa-i is a female-oriented scooter. While Honda has achieved tremendous success in the 110cc scooter segment, the Activa-i hasn’t set sales charts on fire, having been overshadowed by the Honda Activa.

As part of the 2018 update, the new scooter gets five new colours - Candy Jazzy Blue, Imperial Red Metallic, Lush Magneta Metallic, Orchid Purple Metallic and Mat Axis Grey Metallic. Like other scooters in the Honda portfolio, the new Activa-i also gets a four-in-one ignition, and a separate switch to open the seat. Other changes include a metallic exhaust muffler, front hook and a dual-tone analogue instrument console.

No changes have been made on the mechanical front, as it continues to be powered by the same 109cc motor as seen on the older scooter. The air-cooled single-cylinder mill develops 8hp and 9Nm of torque. The scooter runs on 90/100-10 tubeless tyres on both ends. For braking, the Activa-i employs drum brake units on both wheels, and CBS is standard.  The Honda Activa-i competes against the TVS Scooty Zest, Hero Pleasure, Yamaha Ray Z and the Suzuki Let’s.
