New Maruti Alto K10.

The new Maruti Alto K10 will be avialble in petrol and CNG guise. It gets four trims – LX, LXi, VXi and VXi(O). Maruti will also, for the first time launch the Alto K10 with an automatic (AMT) gearbox.

These are the most prominent features on each trim.

The entry-level LX trim, priced at Rs 3.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) gets minimal features. They include a manual AC with heating function, front and rear integrated headrests, and fabric upholstery. Seatbelts are the only considerable safety feature on this trim. This base LX trim does not even get power steering.

Additionally, the LXi trim, Rs 3.22 lakh, gets power steering, a tailgate opener, childlock for the rear doors and internally-adjustable right wing mirror.

Over and above this, the VXi trim that cost Rs 3.38 lakh, gets an audio player that can play CDs and radio. It comes with a two-speaker setup and USB capability. Other additions include central locking, front power windows, buzzer warning for the headlamps, a tachometer, digital clock, rear parcel tray and wheel covers.

The top-specced VXi(O) trim comes with a driver airbag, front fog lamps and keyless entry. It will set you back by Rs 3.80 lakh.

Being a budget hatchback, an extensive feature list isn't expected on the Alto K10, but it’s advisable to atleast shell out for the LXi trim, which comes with power steering.
