Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) will be launching its first mass-market motorcycle for the Indian market, named the Dream Yuga, on May 15th. The bike which was first unveiled at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo will be the latest in the long line of Honda ‘Dream’-badged motorcycles.
The Dream Yuga is minimalistic and will be available in five colours. Styling won’t be very different from the Shine and will boast features like a self-starter, alloy wheels, long seat, full chain cover and tubeless tyres as options. The bike will be powered by a 110cc single-cylinder Honda motor that makes 9bhp and Honda says the Dream will be able to deliver up to 72kpl.
As the Dream Yuga is targeting the mass-market, prices are expected to be around Rs 46,000 and will compete with the likes of the Bajaj Discover, Hero MotoCorp Passion Pro, Splendor Prop and the Yamaha YBR.
