I am planning to upgrade my car from Maruti Ciaz and am considering the Maruti Victoris, Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate or Kia Seltos, with a maximum budget of ₹ 20 lakh. I need an automatic transmission and features such as a panaromic sunroof, good infotainment system, speakers, alloy wheels and ventilated seats. Which car and which variant should I opt for with a petrol automatic transmission? Is there any other apart from the one mentioned above? My weekly running will be around 250 km at max in Delhi NCR region.

Given your requirements, you should consider the Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Victoris strong hybrid. Since your usage is high, you'll benefit from the exceptional fuel efficiency of the same strong hybrid-petrol powertrain that powers all three. The Hyryder and Grand Vitara mileage is 27.97kpl, while the Victoris mileage is 28.65kpl, which is slightly higher (claimed).

All three SUVs also come equipped with all the features you want in their respective top-end trims - a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, alloy wheels, a touchscreen infotainment system and much more.

We would recommend you go for the Maruti Victoris since it's the newest of the lot. It has the most features and also a 5-star Bharat NCAP crash safety rating, which the other two don't have.

As for pricing, the top-spec Victoris ZXI+ (O) string hybrid is priced at Rs 19.99 lakh, while the Grand Vitara Alpha+ (O) costs Rs 19.72 lakh and the Hyryder V is priced at Rs 19.76 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

I want to upgrade from a Unicorn to a 350+cc comfortable ride machine. I have the CB350RS, Hunter and Ronin in mind. I am looking for a relaxed, plush ride. Should I wait for the Triumph 350 series or go with any of the above, or consider other alternatives?

The Bajaj-made 350cc Triumph bikes will be launched in the coming months, and going by our experience with the current 400cc bikes, it would make a lot of sense to wait and see how these turn out.The Honda CB350RS is a good option if you want a retro, relaxed and comfortable riding experience with modern styling and trademark Honda strengths of being easy to ride and own.The TVS Ronin is also a good option to consider because it has similar performance to the air-cooled 350s from Honda and Royal Enfield bikes, while being much more affordable to purchase. It also ticks the box of having plush ride quality, which is important for you. We'd recommend a test ride of the Ronin, CB350RS and Royal Enfield Hunter 350 if you want to purchase a bike immediately but if you can wait for some months, then the Triumph 350s could be the way to go.

Is the Mercedes C300 a good car for a driving enthusiast, especially if this is the only car I will be owning? We are a family of four, and the car has to be practical for daily city drives and occasional long drives with some soft off-roading. Please also suggest alternatives that meet these requirements.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class C300 is a very good car to drive, thanks to a punchy petrol engine and good dynamics. Within the city, it is easy to use and comes with a host of features and technology to make driving effortless. The interior is high quality, the seats are comfy, and it has a good ride too.For long drives, you will enjoy the performance and drivability, but being a sedan comes with limitations like ground clearance. Mercedes has also addressed the ground clearance issue with revisions to the underbody, which have made belly scrapes on speed breakers a rarity. However, you need to be wary once off the tarmac. If you are going to go off the tarmac often, the Mercedes-Benz GLC would be a better choice.
