Volkswagen seems geared up to launch a special-edition Polo hatchback called the Polo Allstar. It was first shown internationally in December 2015 alongside nine other VW models to promote the 2016 UEFA European Championship football tournament.

The Polo Allstar for international markets comes equipped with new design alloy wheels, headlamp washers, fog lamps and 'Allstar' badging on the B-pillar. The interior gets the addition of automatic climate control along with heated seats, and comes with a list of add-ons. The Polo Allstar for India will most likely come with standard petrol and diesel unit options, equipped with a manual gearbox. As far as equipment goes, the test-mule spied a few months ago had unique badging and an alloy-wheel design. Sources tell us Volkswagen will also introduce new paint shades with the Polo Allstar. The Ameo compact sedan’s Blue Silk shade will also be available on the Polo. The India-spec hatchback is likely to hit showrooms in the coming days.

With the Polo AllStar launch this festive season, Volkswagen India aims to regain lost sales to newer rivals such as the Hyundai i20 and the Maruti Baleno.
