Skoda Octavia recalled in India over faulty child locks

Skoda Auto India has issued a recall of 539 units of its Octavia sedan to check the ‘manual child lock of the two rear doors’. The Czech carmaker has claimed that the assessment of the locks will be done in 12 minutes only. In case the locks need to be replaced under the service campaign, the process will conclude in 45 minutes and will be done at no cost to the customer.

The recall will include Octavias produced between November 2015 and April 2016. Skoda dealers will contact Octavia customers across India for a service appointment.

Earlier in the month, it was reported that Skoda is seriously targeting a high level of customer satisfaction in India.

The automaker will also be investing Rs 100 crore in the entire sales and service upgrade programme, beginning with a redesign of 64 sales and service outlets across the country.
