Skoda Octavia Black Edition to launch in January

Having invested in improving service quality, Skoda India also has a slew of launches in the pipeline. It launched the new Rapid facelift recently and the next model due for the Czech brand is the Skoda Octavia Black Edition. Revealed internationally in 2014, the Black Edition series comprises sportier versions of the models in the Skoda range.

The Octavia Black Edition, as the name suggests, gets blacked-out components such as alloy wheels, wing mirror housings, bootlid spoiler, and a roof and grille surround to give the car a sporty appearance. The cabin also carries over the sporty theme with all-black upholstery and sports seats. In terms of equipment, the car is expected to get a few additions, but they haven't been revealed yet. Powering the car will be the same petrol and diesel engines currently available on the Octavia.

The limited-run Black Edition model will be based on the current Octavia and not on the recently revealed facelifted Octavia which will come to India at a later stage. Besides the Black Edition, Skoda will also launch the vRS version sometime next year. However, at this stage it is unclear if this will be the facelifted model.
