This is the first facelift Punto will get after its June 2009 launch. The new version called the Evo will come with completely reworked bumpers, a new grille with a chrome strip, and small tweaks to the headlamp cluster with a frosted finish and new foglamps. The alloys will be new but besides that there are no changes to the car’s side profile. The rear bumper gets the same treatment as the front and the tail-lights get new detailing.

The interiors of the European Evo have been thoroughly revamped. They feel fresher and more upmarket than the current model. The entire dashboard design from the dials to the cluster and gear lever is new. The steering wheel is the only thing carried forward from the current model. How much of the new interiors trickle down to the Indian version is yet to be seen. Engines will be the same 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel sold now. The 1.6 Multijet will not make it to India. Fiat sold an average of 1,060 Puntos a month in 2010-11. It hopes to boost sales further once the Evo is launched.
