Hyundai has begun work on an all-new SUV based on the i20 platform. This new small SUV will be aimed at major international markets, unlike the popular Creta which is aimed at emerging markets like ours and South America. The car is likely to be a production version of the Intrado coupé-SUV concept shown earlier.

Test mules of this new SUV have been spotted internationally. The incoming car will take on the likes of the stylish, yet quirky, Nissan Juke crossover which started its own trend of affordable urban crossovers globally. The car will sit below the Tucson in Hyundai’s global lineup and is likely to share engines with the upcoming next-gen i30 hatchback, which will be showcased at the Paris motor show 2016.

For India, Hyundai will soon bring in the Tucson that will sit between the already on sale Santa Fe on the higher end and the Creta on the lower end. There is no news on whether this new coupé-SUV would make it to India however.
