The first images of the Fiat Viaggio saloon have been revealed ahead of the new car’s unveiling at the Beijing motor show later this month.
The four-door, five-seat Viaggio is based on the Fiat Group’s CUSW (Compact US Wide) architecture – as is the new Dodge Dart, which was shown at January’s Detroit motor show – and sits at 4679mm in length and 1850mm in width.
One turbocharged 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine is available in two states of tune – 118bhp or 147bhp. The powerplants will come mated to either a five-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch transmission. External features of the new car include what the manufacturer describes as a ‘contemporary Fiat face’ and LED rear lights.
The Fiat Viaggio will be built in the new GAC-Fiat plant in China with sales expected from September. At the moment, it is due to be a China-only offering.
