MG Motor India to conduct dealer roadshows this month

    Dealer road shows will take place in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru initially; first model to launch in India in 2019.

    MG Motor India to conduct dealer roadshows this month

    MG Motor India announced that it will invest a total of Rs 5,000 crore in India over the next six years. The company also said that it will began conducting dealer roadshows in India starting with Mumbai on March 28, and further on with Delhi on April 6 and Bengaluru on April 16. 

    SAIC Motor Corporation, the largest automobile manufacturer in China, had announced its entry in the Indian market last year through its fully-owned subsidiary, MG Motor.  

    The company, which acquired GM India’s Halol plant in September 2017, will have an initial production capacity of 80,000 units per annum and is in the process of upgrading the factory with a new press shop and modified the assembly lines and other facilities. 

    As reported by us earlier, MG Motor India’s had said that their first vehicle for the domestic market would be an SUV, with the launch happening in the second-half of 2019. Currently, the company has around 1,000 employees in India.

    As part of its India journey, the company says it will have one new product launch each year from 2019, along with having around 300 dealership and service centres (combined) in India.
