Following a successful  season in Formula 1 which saw the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team win both the drivers’ and constructors’ championship, Mercedes-AMG has revealed a special edition of the A45 to mark the occasion.

Like the F1 W06 hybrid car, the special-edition A45 also gets petrol green and black highlights. The car will also get a bigger front splitter and a rear-mounted roof spoiler.

The car comes with the AMG Exclusive package, AMG Dynamic Plus package, electrically adjustable AMG Performance seats in leather/Dinamica, and the Night package, as standard. Inside, the car is equipped with a Performance steering wheel dressed in Dinamica microfiber with petrol green stitching seen on the dashboard, armrests, and on the air vents rings.

With updates mostly being cosmetic, the A45 Petronas 2015 World Champion Edition gets the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which develops 375bhp and 48.52kgm of torque. Power is sent to the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system via the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that was optimised to provide quicker shifts in the facelifted A45 that came out earlier this year. This  enables the model to run the 0-100kph sprint in 4.2 seconds.

Customers will be able to order the car in various paintwork such as Polar Silver Metallic, Designo Mountain Grey Magno, and Mountain Grey Metallic. However, the 19-inch cross-spoke titanium grey wheels with petrol green rim flanges are standard, regardless of paint choice.

The special-edition A45 will be shown at this weekend’s Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in Yas Marina.
