Mahindra & Mahindra has launched a diesel MPV based on its all-new Supro platform. The BSIII-compliant van is priced at Rs 4.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane).

The Supro Van, targeted as a people-carrier or a personal vehicle for large semi-urban families, is powered by a 45.6bhp, 909cc turbodiesel engine, mated to a five-speed manual transmission and gets three variants: the base VX trim, the LX trim (with power steering), and the top ZX trim with power steering and AC. The van can be had in a five-seat or eight-seat layout and will be offered with a 2-year/60,000km warranty. The Supro Van will compete with the Maruti Omni and Eeco.

Mahindra has also launched a one tonne payload commercial vehicle called the Supro Maxitruck with prices starting at Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane) for the BS III version. Available in three colours, both Supro vehicles will be built at Mahindra's Chakan plant, near Pune.
