Hyundai now offers six airbags on the top-of-the-line SX and Asta(O) trims of its i20 Active and the Elite i20 models respectively. The other Hyundai i20 and i20 Active variants continue with the current dual-airbag setup.

In this new system, the cars get two front impact airbags along with two side seat airbags for the front passengers. The cars are also equipped with two curtain airbags that extend from the front of the cabin to the rear.

This makes Hyundai the second manufacturer in this segment to offer a hatchback with six airbags. Ford offer six airbags on the top-spec Titanium+ Figo, while all the other brands offer only two airbags.

Earlier, Hyundai had eight airbags on offer in the previous-generation i20 for India.

Here is a look at some of the hatchbacks below Rs 10 lakhs that come with six airbags:

Airbags
TrimPrice (ex-showroom, Delhi)
Hyundai i20
Asta (O)Rs 7.75 lakh - Rs 9 lakh
Hyundai i20 Active
SXRs 8.33 lakh - Rs 9.71 lakh
Ford Figo
Titanium +Rs 7.42 lakh - Rs 8.77 lakh
