Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition launched at Rs 12.24 lakh

    Hyundai had showcased the special Anniversary Edition Creta a few days ago and has now officially launched this variant, priced at Rs 12.24 lakh for the petrol and Rs 13.76 lakh for the diesel (ex-showroom, Delhi).

    Based on the SX+ trim, the Creta Anniversary Edition remains mechanically unchanged and comes with the option of a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, both mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

    Outside, the new Creta sports a black roof, black-painted C-pillar and integrated spoiler, the SX(O) trims’ dual tone 17-inch alloy wheels, bright silver skid plates and body graphics. Hyundai is offering the SUV in just one colour – Polar White. The interior features remain the same as those offered with the SX+ trim; the only changes being a dual tone black and grey dashboard with red accents around the HVAC vents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and fabric upholstery with red inserts.

    Hyundai has also added an S+ trim to the Creta diesel automatic lineup priced at Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Until now, the carmaker had the automatic option only on the top-spec SX+ variant. The new S+ diesel AT is cheaper than the SX+ variant by almost Rs 1.03 lakh.

    Features offered as standard include a 7.0-inch touchscreen audio system with six speakers, Bluetooth streaming, 1GB HDD, dual airbags, ABS and foglamps. It does, however, miss out on features such as projector headlamps, a dual-tone grille, push button start, automatic climate control, and the rear wiper that is offered on the SX+ variant.

    Another addition to the Hyundai Creta petrol lineup is the Creta Executive variant, this trim is called the E+ and it sits above the base petrol variant of the SUV. The Creta Executive comes with a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, roof rails, power wing mirrors with turn indicators and rear AC vents. It will miss out on features like alloy wheels and projector headlamps to name a few. The Creta Executive petrol trim is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Creta petrol is no longer available in the higher S trim.

    Despite being the highest priced of the SUVs, the Creta is the segment leader, and with the launch of the Creta petrol Executive and the S+ Diesel AT variants, Hyundai has attempted to make the SUV a better value-for-money proposition for buyers.
