    Ford launches 2012 Fiesta line-up

Ford India launches its 2012 Fiesta line-up with new base variants for petrol and diesel models. The new cut-price Ambiente variant is priced at Rs 7.23 lakh for the petrol and Rs 8.99 for the Style diesel variant (ex-showroom Delhi). This means the entry-level Fiesta petrol is now cheaper by Rs 1 lakh, while the base diesel will cost Rs 28,000 less.

Ford has also simplified the Fiesta line-up that starts with Ambiente, Style and Titanium + variants. The petrol is now available with Ambiente, Titanium+, Style (AT) and Titanium+ (AT), while the diesel is available in Style and Titanium + variants.

Priced aggressively, the Ambiente variant features driver airbag, ABS with EBD, power mirrors, central locking, turn indicators on ORVM, tilt steering, guide-me-home headlamp, 100% foldable rear seats. The Style variant gets automatic climate control, fog lamps, leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, audio control on steering wheel, audio system with 6-speakers and Aux-in.

In addition to all these features, the top-end Titanium+ will have cruise control, Bluetooth voice control, auto power-fold mirrors, reverse parking sensor and chrome front grille. The Powershift Automatic Style and Titanium+ get ESP while only the Titatnium+ gets additional leather seats.

Commenting on the launch of Fiesta Ambiente, Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said the company is trying to respond to changing market dynamics and the evolving needs of its customers in India.

The Fiesta Ambiente will compete with the likes of Honda City and Hyundai Verna, which are priced between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), respectively.

Last month, the company had launched two automatic variants of the petrol Fiesta, priced at Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
