BMW’s blog has revealed details about the BMW i3 model that will be made available only to ActiveE owners. Dubbed the Eectronaut edition, this special BMW i3 model will also get different badging, along with a blue license plate frame.

The BMW i3 Electronaut edition will also get DC Fast Charging system.

While changes to the interior are limited, tweeks include heated front seats, special floor mats and embroidered “board bag”. This model will also get a DC Fast charging system.

Owners will also get exclusive access to the BMW iSmart Charging application for Apple and Android users. While there isn’t much known about the usability of the app yet, it is rumoured that the application will help owners reduce their energy costs by calculating the daily cost-optimized charging periods for the i3.

Another perks for Electronaut buyers will be that the additional equipment that reportedly costs $1,750, will be made free for the owners of this special edition BMW i3.
