India, in this short span of time, has obliterated all competition thanks to its cutting-edge editorial content. The magazine is always first with the news and has earned a legendary reputation for its scoops and breaking stories, which is remarkable given the magazine's monthly frequency. The core of the magazine remains its road tests and vehicle evaluation that have become the industry benchmark. In fact, companies like Volkswagen and GM India have modelled their fuel efficiency testing around Autocar India's methodology.

Over the years, Autocar India has become a powerful brand in the automotive industry, successfully drawing the credible values from its parent, Autocar UK which, established in 1895, is the oldest car magazine in the world. Autocar India is read by highly influential people who have a passion for cars. Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan, John Abraham and Boman Irani, like thousands of others, have relied on the advice and verdicts of Autocar India before buying a car. Hormazd Sorabjee, editor of Autocar India, says: "It's fantastic to be so far ahead of the others in India, which is one of the most important automobile markets in the world. It's thanks to the efforts of my team which is undoubtedly the best in the business and our dear readers whose loyalty and constant feedback has enabled us to reach this dominant position."
