Previously seen at the Auto Expo in Delhi this year, Yamaha plans to launch a special edition of the YZF-R15 featuring black and gold livery along with the addition of a grey colour option. The YZF-R15 will continue to be powered by a 149.8cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder and liquid-cooled engine, generating 16.8bhp of maximum power at 8500rpm while peak torque of 1.5kgm is made at 7500rpm.
Apart from this, Yamaha also plans to introduce a revamped version of the FZ-S which was also unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014. The new FZ-S looks much more aggressive than the current model, featuring a sharper looking front and rear, split-seats, air intakes positioned below the fuel tank and a new exhaust system. Mechanically, the FZ-S would carry the same four-stroke, 153cc, single-cylinder and air-cooled engine that produces maximum power of 14bhp at 7500rpm while 1.46kgm of peak torque is generated at 6000rpm.
We expected Yamaha to tweak both the motorcycles on the technical front as well, but for the time being, they will be available with cosmetic upgrades only, priced at a certain premium over the existing models. The FZ-S will sell alongside its limited edition available in matte finish but will replace the current model on sale. Both motorcycles have reached showrooms, indicating that their launch is just around the corner.
