Yamaha launches refreshed Saluto

    Yamaha Motor India has just refreshed its commuter segment offering, the Saluto. The refreshed Saluto will now be available with a disc brake at its front wheel. The bike will also be available in four new paint schemes of green, blue, white and red.

    Yamaha’s Saluto continues to be equipped with a 125cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder and carburetor-fed engine that makes 8.2bhp of power at 7,000rpm and 1kgm of torque is produced at an early 4,500rpm. Also, the Saluto weighs only 112kg.

    The vice president of Yamaha Motor India, Roy Kurian, said, “The new Saluto is aimed at providing a safer and more controlled biking experience for city traffic conditions. It is intended to expand sales in the largest demand category in India by offering one of the best fuel economy performances in the 125cc class.”

    Yamaha’s new, disc brake-equipped Saluto is priced at Rs 54,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
