Italian firm Tacita has built an electric enduro motorcycle, the T-RACE, a liquid-cooled bike that runs on a maintenance-free electric motor, powered by lithium polymer batteries. Tacita claims the batteries that power T-RACE can be charged 2,000 times and are made to last through the motorcycle's life cycle. Tacita has built its motorcycle to give out no emissions or noise.
Tacita entered the Merzouga rally in Morocco with the T-RACE to test this novel motorcycle earlier this month. The aim was to collect as much data and test reliability. The T-RACE has become the first electric enduro motorcycle to enter a rally raid race and finish successfully, winning a new energy category.
T-RACE marks a step towards helping bike enthusiasts enjoy real world biking pleasures without being burdened with the rising costs of fuel.
