EV startup Emflux has taken the wraps off its first model One, which will go on sale in 2019. To be priced at between Rs 5-6 lakh, the One promises to deliver superbike thrills in an environment friendly (and stunning) package. The electric bike is powered by a 60kW motor which produces 84Nm of torque and Emflux claims it can go from 0 to 100kph in 3 seconds (with the optional carbon fibre panels). A city range of 200 km has been claimed with a highway range of 150 km (at 80 kph), both of which are impressive figures, even if not enough to make you forego your superbike fantasies.

A number of EV start-ups have emerged, over the years; the more famous ones being Tork Electric and Ather Energy. Emflux is another such company based in Bengaluru and formed by three individuals – Varun Mittal, Ankit Khatry and Vinay Raj Somashekhar. Its first concept the company showed off in early 2017 suggests an electric sports bike with some big claims, in terms of performance.

Emflux claims to achieve this performance with the use of a liquid-cooled AC induction motor. The battery pack itself is air-cooled and features battery cells developed by Samsung. Fast charging is available with a 0-80 percent charge completing in 1hr 15mins. While the One displayed at the Auto Expo 2018 is a prototype, three variants will be available at the time of launch.
