After revealing that its upcoming model will be badged RS 200, instead of the suggested 200 SS, Bajaj has released a teaser video of the “fastest Pulsar yet.” The Pulsar RS 200 will be launched in India on March 26. The bike has been spied in production-ready guise a number of times, and is the fully-faired version of the 200 NS. The RS in the moniker stands for something on the lines of ‘race sport’.

Cosmetically, the Pulsar RS 200 gets sharp styling synonymous with faired motorcycles. In the front, it gets twin projector headlamps and daytime-running lights, while at the back, there are split LED tail-lamps and split seats.

Mechanically, the Pulsar RS 200 will be powered by the same unit as its naked sibling, the 200 NS. This means, the 199.5cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder and liquid-cooled engine will produce 23.2bhp and 1.86kgm of torque, and will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. In terms of braking, the RS 200 will be the first Pulsar to be equipped with ABS.

The Pulsar RS 200 will take on the likes of the Yamaha R15 V2.0, the Honda CBR150R and the KTM Duke 200.
