Fiat has showcased the Avventura for the first time after its Auto Expo 2014 unveil.

The Avventura is based on the same platform as the Fiat Punto hatchback

It features bold cladding on the lower portion of the bumpers and doors to lend it a tough look.

Fiat Avventura looks like its somewhere between the Ford EcoSport and crossovers like the VW Cross Polo.

Interestingly, the Avventura’s spare wheel gets its own side-hinged mount and is not attached to the upward-opening tail gate.

Fiat also launched its Abarth brand in India at the Auto Expo, starting with the Fiat 500 Abarth.

The India-specific Abarth 500 is expected to come with a 137bhp 1.4-litre turbo engine, which should give it plenty of performance.

The India-bound Abarth 500's handling will also be much sportier courtesy stiffer springs and dampers.

The car will come with even more aggressive styling and will be imported initially.

Fiat also showcased the new Linea at the Mumbai outlet.
