Hi Autocar, thank you for your valuable service. I have a Hyundai Elite i20 2019 Asta Diesel. It has driven almost 1,10,000 km, and the best part is that there are still no mechanical issues, and it still gives 27+ kmpl on highways and 23+ kmpl in the city. I am planning to upgrade to the Tata Harrier Fearless X Diesel. Is it worth upgrading, or should I continue using this? I am doing all services at Hyundai only. My average running is 20,000 to 30,000 km per year, mostly on highways.

The Hyundai Elite i20 has served you well, and it is commendable that you have managed to extract such high fuel efficiency from the car.

The Tata Harrier is a significant upgrade in terms of size, space, and comfort. The Harrier is also a very comfortable car for long highway drives, and the diesel engine is a decent performer. However, the Harrier is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to reliability. While the engine and gearbox are robust, there have been reports of niggles and issues with the car. If you are okay with the possibility of having to visit the service centre more often, then the Harrier is a good upgrade.

If you are looking for a more hassle-free ownership experience, then you could consider the Hyundai Alcazar. The Alcazar is not as spacious as the Harrier, but it is a very comfortable car for long drives, and the diesel engine is very efficient as well.

The AX7 trim with the diesel automatic fits in your budget and is a spacious, feature-packed, powerful SUV with superb ride quality. Mahindra service also generally has a better reputation than Tata. Before you make your choice, make sure you take a test drive of both vehicles.

Hi , my daily usage is 60 km within city apart from this monthly 200 km short trip and yearly twice 1000kms trip currently owning a nexon diesel xz+P. Automatic. Looking for bigger than this with fun to drive experience and comfort seating with decent millage

If you are satisfied with the Tata experience, you could consider the Tata Sierra. As your usage is on the higher side and you already use a diesel Nexon, we would recommend going for the 1.5-litre diesel with the six-speed torque converter automatic.The Sierra is roomier than the Nexon and offers the comfortable seating you are looking for, yet it isn’t so large as to become a chore on your long city commute. The diesel engine is grunty for both city and highway use, and the automatic gearbox shifts smoothly. The ride and handling balance is also excellent, making it a very enjoyable SUV to drive.A mid-spec Adventure+ comes with all the necessities, along with features like a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera. Importantly, it also gets a reclining rear seat and a thigh-support extension for the front seats, both of which improve seating comfort. Do take a test drive before committing to buying.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Petrol-AMT is an excellent, user-friendly city car. The engine is smooth, refined and fuel-efficient. Do keep in mind that the drive experience with the AMT will not be nearly as seamless as your Micra CVT, however by AMT standards, the Nios' unit is quite smooth. So if you are on a tight budget, go for the Nios. But if you can extend your budget slightly, we'd highly recommend you to consider the Hyundai i20 Magna Petrol-IVT. Not only is the i20 a much bigger, more spacious and more premium offering, but its petrol-IVT combination is smooth and seamless, something as a Nissan Micra CVT owner, you will appreciate.
