Waiting for the new Skoda Octavia

I wanted to know when the new Octavia will be launched and if there will be an RS model coming as well?

I am a big fan of Skoda and was planning to buy the Octavia this year. However, I read on many websites, including yours, that a new model with updated interiors and exteriors is on the way. I would like to know when the new Octavia would launch and be available to us? I also wanted to know if Skoda would be launching the RS version of the new Octavia this year.

At the moment, there is no Octavia on sale in India. The previous model was discontinued before the shift to BS6 norms in April 2020. Hence, your only option is to wait for its successor, the 2021 Skoda Octavia. The new Octavia was expected to arrive in April though the carmaker has now pushed back the launch owing to the second wave of Covid-19 and the ensuing lockdown measures imposed in some states. Expect the sedan to launch by end-May. Skoda will certainly launch the latest RS version but first the company needs to sell off the handful of existing, unsold RS units. We expect the new RS to come this year but can’t put a definite time frame on it.
