Q: I am thinking about switching from my seven-year-old Honda Activa to an electric scooter. The scooter will be used primarily for my daily office commute, a roundtrip of 25km, and weekend errands. While I like the Ather 450X, I’m also considering the Hero Vida V1 for the convenience of removable batteries that it offers.

Autocar India says: The Ather 450X is, by far, one of the most impressive electric scooters out there. Its proven track record and the fact that it has a wide fast charging network makes it a scooter worth considering, especially if you are looking to take delivery soon. The only downside is that it is not comfortable for taller folks.

The Vida V1, on the other hand, has a lot going for it when it comes to practicality, ergonomics, comfort and features. It also has the larger boot, which gives it additional points, as grocery hauling ability is on your list of requirements. More importantly, the Vida can be charged at Ather’s existing network of fast chargers as well. As for the convenience of the removable batteries, the Vida is the only scooter in the premium category to feature this. However, we are yet to test it in the real-world and can only give you a definitive verdict after that.

Hence, if you need to make the switch to an electric scooter soon, the Ather 450X is a wise choice. You could also read our exhaustive comparison test between the Ather 450X, TVS IQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 Pro to make an informed decision.
