I commute around 100km daily and I am planning to buy a strong hybrid within a budget of Rs 20 lakh-25 lakh. We are a family of five and I am unable to choose between the Honda City hybrid and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Ease of maintenance, practicality and capable highway manners are my priority.

Autocar India says: Both the Honda City and Maruti Grand Vitara are excellent strong hybrids that offer low running costs, reliability and ease of use. The question though should be if you want to go in for a midsize sedan (City hybrid) or SUV (Grand Vitara hybrid), and it’s clear from your usage that an SUV makes more sense. The Grand Vitara is a better highway car and can seat five passengers more comfortably than the City, and hence, is the better choice.
