Hi Autocar Expert, I currently own a Tata Nexon XZA diesel and am planning to upgrade. However, I have a major parking constraint at my home. I am interested in the Toyota Innova Hycross, but if it is parked in my parking space, the doors cannot be opened properly due to limited space. Because of this, I am considering buying a car that offers an automatic or self-parking feature. Could you please guide me on which cars offer this feature and would suit my situation?

Auto parking might not solve your problem if your parking space is too narrow to open the doors. The summon feature that the Tata Harrier EV gets could be of some use, but it won’t fit your requirements if you need a three-row vehicle like the Toyota Innova Hycross.

Instead, we suggest you take a look at the Kia Carens Clavis. It is narrower than the Hycross by about 45-50mm and is roughly the same width as your Nexon, so it should fit in your parking space.

In terms of interior volume, while it is not as spacious as the Hycross, it offers plenty of room in the second row and a genuinely usable third row.

Hi team, please suggest the best 7-seater under 25 lakh with low maintenance and high reliability. I drive around 50km every day in the city and take two or three family trips to the hills each year. Check out the Kia Carens Clavis, which, within your budget, gives you the most options in terms of engines and gearboxes to suit your needs. You could choose the punchy turbo petrol, or if fuel economy is a bigger concern, the smooth and refined diesel. Either should be good at handling uphill traffic, though if you're looking at an automatic gearbox, be advised that the turbo-petrol's DCT will fumble a bit on hill starts. Overall, it is a high-quality, spacious and practical seven-seater with reasonable maintenance costs and good reliability.If you want the ultimate hassle-free experience, though, get a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which will also be more fuel efficient than the Carens petrol. However, it won't have as many bells and whistles, nor the same premium interior as the Kia car.

I currently own a Maruti Ignis, which I have had for approximately nine years, and I am considering upgrading to the Sierra EV. I recently test-drove a demonstration model and found it to be quite heavy. This made me question whether such a robust build is truly necessary for vehicles. While I acknowledge that safety is paramount, I believe there may be opportunities to optimize the weight of the vehicle. The increased weight inherently affects the performance and power consumption of petrol, CNG, and electric vehicles. Modern safety features, such as ADAS, offer alternative approaches to improving vehicle safety.

The Tata Sierra EV is a very different proposition from your Ignis, and the weight you felt is a natural consequence of both its size and its construction. This Tata car is a significantly larger and more premium vehicle, and the battery pack itself adds considerable weight. At 5'1", she will benefit from its good all-round visibility, light steering and compact dimensions, which make it very easy to manoeuvre in city traffic and tight parking spaces. This Hyundai car also gets driver's seat height adjustment from the base trim, which will be very handy for your wife. The AMT gearbox is smooth enough for daily commuting, and the car is very easy to drive. Fuel efficiency is decent; expect 9 to 10kpl in the city and 15kpl on the highway.If you want something a bit more efficient, consider the Maruti Suzuki Swift. In our testing we managed 12.7kpl in the city and 19kpl on the highway with the AGS.
