Hyundai Grand i10 Nios vs Maruti Suzuki Celerio: which to buy?

I own an Audi Q3 petrol and I am looking for a hatchback for city use. As I work in the merchant navy, the smaller car will mostly be used by my wife and will hardly run 3,000-4,000km a year. I am looking for a petrol AT and have shortlisted the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Magna AMT. The Celerio has good fuel efficiency, but other things are not according to my liking. The Nios is a good looking car, but I heard its fuel efficiency figures are lesser. Given that the Nios costs around Rs 50,000 more, and that the car will be used by my wife, should I bet on the Celerio?

The Grand i10 Nios is certainly a better car than the Celerio, which is quite basic and small in comparison. Yes, the Nios is not as fuel-efficient, but it’s not a gas guzzler by any standards. And since the usage will be around 3,000-4,000km a year, the fuel bills won’t burn a hole in your pocket. More importantly, your wife will be better off in the Grand i10 Nios, which is far more upmarket than the Celerio.
