•6wI have shortlisted the new Kia Seltos HTK(O) and the Hyundai Creta S(O), both with CVT/IVT. Please guide me on which one offers better safety ratings, lower maintenance, and better resale value. Also, if I buy the matte black Creta, will it be difficult to maintain? My driving is mainly within Kolkata city, with very little highway use. I do not want a DCT or a manual.

The Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta are mechanically identical, so the safety ratings and maintenance costs will be similar. However, the Creta has a stronger brand name and is more in demand, giving it the upper hand when it comes to resale value. The CVT/iVT transmission is the ideal choice for you since most of your drive is in the city, and no transmission is smoother than a CVT.
Matte black paint does require more care since it shows scratches and marks easily. However, a good paint protection film or ceramic coating should help keep the paint in good condition. You will need to regularly maintain it, though, if you want it to look its best. Something you don't really have to do with a standard gloss paint.
