•5wI currently own a petrol Hyundai i10 Grand and drive about 200-250 km per month, with outstation trips once every 3-4 months of around 400-500 km. We are a family of four, and I am considering upgrading to a sub-4m petrol automatic SUV within a ₹12-14 lakh budget. We initially considered the new Hyundai Venue, but did not like it. We are now considering the Kia Sonet HTX and Skoda Kushaq Signature Plus Automatic, but I am concerned about Skoda’s maintenance and service network. Considering these cars have different automatic engines and my limited usage, could you please suggest the most suitable option?

The Skoda Kylaq would be a better choice in this comparison. It has enough space for four, and the powertrain is fantastic. The 1.0-litre TSI engine is a joy to drive, and the 6-speed torque converter automatic is smooth to shift.
The ride too is better on the Kylaq, and you will enjoy it especially on long drives out of the city. Maintenance for the Skoda isn't what it was some years ago. They are now almost on par with the Koreans, and while a tad more expensive in terms of part costs, the overall service isn't too different. You will enjoy the Kylaq more, and we recommend you go for it.
