Tata Harrier EV Range

The Tata Harrier EV range runs from 538km to 627km (ARAI-certified), and the battery and drive layout matter more here than anything else. The 65kWh rear-wheel-drive version is certified at 538km, the 75kWh rear-wheel-drive version at 627km and the 75kWh all-wheel-drive version at 622km.

In Autocar India's tests, the 75kWh Harrier EV returned 5.45km/kWh in the city and 5.24km/kWh on the highway, an average of 5.35km/kWh, which equals a tested range of 400.88km. Mostly highway driving in Eco mode covered 414km from 98 to 3 percent battery. Owners report between 426km and 429km, and Tata quotes 460 to 490km for the all-wheel-drive car on its own C75 cycle.

Which model fits my driving:

• If range is your priority, the 75kWh rear-wheel-drive version is the pick at 627km certified.
• All-wheel drive costs you only 5km of certified range (622km against 627km), but it also adds weight and shrinks the front boot from 67 litres to 35 litres.
• The 65kWh version suits city use and shorter trips, with 538km certified.
• For highway trips, plan around 400km between charges, in line with the 400.88km Autocar India measured and a stop of about 25 minutes on a 120kW charger.
• Eco mode cuts motor torque to save energy, and the 0 to 100kph run slows from 6.74 seconds in Boost to 10.22 seconds.
