I have been driving an Ignis since 2017 and have crossed 1,50,000 km. It is still going strong. Since my age is around 70, I want to switch to a new car with a DCT AMT. My budget is around โ‚น15 lakh. Please suggest a car that fits my parking space. There is no room for long SUVs. Looking ahead, should I choose diesel or petrol?

The Kia Syros and the Hyundai Venue are good options to consider. Both will be a satisfying upgrade from your Maruti Suzuki Ignis and should fit a tight parking spot, as both cars come in under the 4 meter mark.
We are not sure what you mean about the AMT, but assume you mean 'without AMT', in which case again these cars will fit the bill. The petrol version of both come with a dual clutch (DCT) gearbox, while the diesels have a torque convertor (TC) unit.
Since you are also worried about the petrol vs diesel issue, opt for a petrol if your running will not be very high in the future.

I want to buy my first car under Rs 12 lakh. I will be learning to drive with it as well, so please suggest an SUV or sedan in my budget that is reliable, safe, and easy to maintain and operate for newcomers.

Among the sedans, you could shortlist the Maruti Suzuki Dzire Petrol AMT for its user-friendliness. It is likely to be a reliable and very fuel-efficient option - one you can't go wrong with.
An SUV alternative is the Hyundai Venue 1.2 Petrol, which is smooth, has light controls, and is backed by Hyundai's widespread support network.

I need an automatic car for my wife for 90% city driving. My budget is around 15 lakh. I am considering the Venue DCT, Brezza AT, and Creta CVT. Please also advise EV options. I need light steering and a car that is easy to manoeuvre in the city with reasonably good fuel economy.

Considering the fact that 90% of the driving would be within city limits, an electric car would be a good option. Not only are they zippier and easier to drive with light steering, but you also get the massive cost savings in terms of cost per kilometer.
The Tata Nexon EV in Creative trim would be the best choice as it fits in your budget and gets the bigger 45kWh battery pack.
The Hyundai Creta CVT would not fit in the Rs 15 lakh budget, and while the Maruti Suzuki Brezza AT and Hyundai Venue DCT are good, they just are not as effortless to drive in the city as the Nexon EV is.

I want to buy an SUV with good mileage and safety. My usage is between 2000-2500 kms, 40% in the city and 60% on highways. My budget is 13-14 lakhs on road price. I want a petrol automatic with smooth running and any diesel variant within my budget. Kindly suggest the car.

At that budget, your best bet is a compact SUV. Check out the new Hyundai Venue, which is the latest compact SUV on the market.
This Hyundai car offers both petrol and diesel engines, both with manual and automatic gearboxes, and for your budget, you can get the HX6 1.0 Turbo Petrol DCT variant or the HX5 1.5 diesel AT variant.
Both these mid-range variants have a strong features list, but moreover, both versions are smooth and easy to drive, whether in the city or out on the highway, so they should suit your needs well.

Hi Team. Iโ€™m 34 from Mumbai and planning to buy my first car. Iโ€™m choosing between the Hyundai Venue HX8 DCT (around โ‚น15.5 lakh on-road) and the Kia Sonet HTX DCT (around โ‚น13.5 lakh after discounts). While the Sonet offers similar features and better interiors, I feel the Venue looks bigger, more premium, and has better space. However, the โ‚น2 lakh price gap is making the decision difficult. I intend to keep the car for at least 5 years and donโ€™t want to get bored with the interior.

While you can save a big amount on the Kia Sonet, we feel the Hyundai Venue HX8 is worth the extra spend for you, especially since you intend to keep the car for five years or so.
The Venue's larger touchscreen and more modern interface count for a lot inside, and will keep the car looking fresh inside for quite some time. As you have rightly noted, the Venue also has the edge in terms of space.
Also, the Hyundai Venue is essentially a newer-gen vehicle and will fetch you more resale value when it's time to sell it in the future.

I am confused between the i20 N Line N8 DCT and the new Venue N Line N6 DCT. Looking at trends, SUVs are favourable, but I like the features and looks of the i20 N Line. My budget is 12-13 lakhs. Please advise.

If you enjoy driving, the Hyundai i20 N Line is the pick for you. Its tweaked steering and suspension make it genuinely fun to drive.
The Hyundai Venue N Line is more of a cosmetic update and doesn't drive very differently from a standard Venue. Further, the i20 N Line N8 packs in a lot more features and equipment than the Venue N Line N6.

I want an SUV between 10-14 lakhs. I usually drive around 150-200km per month, and long drive is limited to max twice a year.

The Hyundai Venue in its HX8 guise will be a good choice for you. It is a good city SUV with enough ground clearance, a well-built and well-equipped cabin and strong after sales and service support.
It is also a new addition to the market and will hold its value well. The turbo-petrol engine is responsive, and the DCT gearbox will add to the convenience.

Hi, I currently have a 2015 Hyundai i10 Sportz IRDE2 model. It's been 10 years. I drove 40k kms. Planning to upgrade to an SUV. My budget is below 15 lakhs. My preference is cruise control, automatic AC, rear defogger, ORVM indicator, and LED lights. Don't want automatic. I need only petrol. My driving is mostly city and occasional highways. Please suggest the best quality car with good after-sales service.

Since you are used to a Hyundai, a good option would be to look within the same brand. The new Hyundai Venue will satisfy all your requirements as it has all of the above-mentioned features within the budget.
The HX8 is a good variant that gets a manual gearbox and a well-appointed interior. Hyundai also has one of the strongest after-sales networks, so it should not be an issue either.

I want to buy a new 5-seater SUV. It should be reliable, have low ownership costs, and be a good family car. My budget is 10 lakh. I was confused between the Hyundai Venue HX2 1.2 and the Brezza LXI. I was a bit concerned about whether the Venueโ€™s 1.2 NA engine is sufficient. I have now booked the Brezza LXI, and the dealer will deliver it next week. Should I wait for the Brezza facelift, or consider the Venue 1.2 instead?

The Hyundai Venue does pack in more features for the money (such as a touchscreen and digital dials), and the interior is slightly more premium. However, it's the Maruti Suzuki Brezza that will fit your needs better. It is reliable, cheap to maintain, and scores very well on space and ride comfort.
This Maruti Suzuki car also has the advantage of a larger and more powerful engine, which gives it better performance than the Hyundai Venue 1.2.
We'd suggest you go ahead with your Brezza order. Do note, there is no timeline for the Brezza facelift's launch. Also, we don't expect more than a few cosmetic changes on the model.
