Vinfast VF5

The Vinfast VF5 is an all-electric hatchback from the Vietnamese EV maker, designed to bridge the gap between the entry-level VF3 and the larger VF6 eSUV in the global lineup. Slated for an Indian debut in mid-2026, the VF5 is likely to lock horns with the Tata Tiago EV or Punch EV, depending on its specification in India.

Globally, the Vinfast VF5 is offered with two battery pack options: a 29.6kWh battery pack mated with a 95hp electric motor, or a larger 37.23kWh battery pack paired with a 136hp motor. The smaller battery pack has a claimed range of 268km, while the larger one has a 326km range (both NEDC-rated). 

Key Highlights of the Vinfast VF5

• It measures 3,967mm in length, 1,723mm in width, and 1,579mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,514mm.
• Offers 160mm ground clearance and 260 litres of boot space with both rows up. 
• Has a typical Vinfast-like design with SUV-like styling elements like rugged body cladding and flared wheel arches.
• Features LED DRLs, projector headlights, up to 17-inch rims and connected LED taillights.
• Global-spec model sports an all-black dashboard with silver accents; seats have leatherette upholstery.
• Features include an 8-inch infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a 4-speaker sound system and an air purifier.
• Safety suite includes 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill start assist and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
• VF5 safety rating is unknown as it is yet to be crash tested by any NCAP organisation.
